Should I Pay JOURNEYMAN $500 if I lose a bet to him?

Let me start off by saying my track record for paying forum bets is 2nd to none. On a scale of 1 to 1000, my credit score is 1000. I have paid countless forum bets to perfect strangers hiding behind posting handles with the best of them.

This is just a few of the bets I have paid to forum strangers.

JASON4000, 2 $500 bets for a total of $1000
WANNABEEWHALE 1 $500 bet
Journeyman himself last year for $500
DOCTORS PICKS at another forum for $500
WVU for $100
And about 5 or 6 other small bets for $100 or less.

I have paid out over $3000 bucks alone to this forum to strangers.

So my reasoning for this thread is not to try to get out of paying someone.

Part of me says to ignore whats happened the last 10 days and pay the bet.

The other part of me is saying that there is not a chance in hell that I would have ever goten paid if I won the bet so why should I pay?

I am being pulled in all different directions on this issue. I want to do the right thing.

Should I give him the benifit of the doubt and pay? Or should I not pay?

Nothing worse than a stiff in my book. Would this mean im a stiff?

Thanks for your advice in advance.

hey chop, long time no talk. Hope is well with you pal...I dont know what happened with J-man other than he is no longer here...I try not to get wrapped up in the drama and just stick to finding winners in the hockey forum...but reading yuor post sounds as if you already know what you should do. My advice to you is do what will make you sleep better at night, nothing more, nothing less. Take it easy buddy, stop by the hockey forum once in a while!!

If you agree to pay someone and don't pay them then you are a stiff. Even if the person you agreed to pay goes mental or doesn't pay other people.

You never want your credibility questioned in this business and you don't ever want to be labled a stiff....so I say pay him.....

Completely up to you, I wouldn't blame you for not paying.

JMan is no longer a member of TheRX as far as I can tell, and when he went out throwing around insults and accusations about people here, he broke that trust that he may have had before.

I think you two made a bet under the presumption that the two of you were friendly members at TheRX, which is no longer true. If he had quit and decided not to post on his own without all the drama, it would be a different story.

Did you already lose it or is it in progress? If it's still pending he definately won't pay after you started this thread.

I still say pay him.

Journeyman has revealed himself as a stiff and financially insecure.

Relax guys, you can't attack somebody for questioning it for a moment when it's pretty certain now he wouldn't have paid if he lost.

But you have to pay regardless or you're a stiff.

I think you should pay Cigarman if J-man acknowledges that he owes him. That would be the right thing to do in my eyes.

Of course you would be a stiff because the common denominator for all stiffs is:
They always find an excuse to not pay.
Not too many stiffs in this world say, "HA HA I am not paying"

Think back to all the stiffs that you know ... each one had come up with a excuse ...

You don't HAVE TO pay him ... but you'll have to live with the label ... and next year or maybe 5 years later, you'll wish you had paid him ... and you won't ever be able to shed the label ...

If you were asshole, it wouldn't have mattered either way, Chop ... but you're a respected poster ... it's not worth $500 ...
